How does Basketball Geelong use SportingPulse?
- Take player registrations online.
Players visit the Geelong Basketball website and click through to an online form. This form is linked directly to their SportingPulse member database so includes validation rules and the data they want to capture. The data is now in their SportingPulse database, which means it can be used for fixtures, player scoring, insurance and capitation through to parent bodies – and the player has entered the data themselves. - Take season and event payments online.
Geelong Basketball has opted to turn on SportingPulse Payments. This means players can choose to continue on in the online registration process and pay for their registration online, then and there. Not only does this save players remembering to bring cash, staff do not have the risk of carrying large amounts of cash and it means that players (or their parents) can pay at their convenience, 24/7. Basketball Geelong have also run one-off events using SportingPulse Payments.

Basketball Geelong use SportingPulse competition management software to manage fixturing, results and ladders. - Collect scores and stats
Basketball Geelong can input scoring directly into the system using a product called Stadium Scoring, which is a module placed courtside at basketball games and collects stats on goal scorers and other stats that help engage players. These stats can be published online to help drive player visits to your website and get them engaged in improving their performance by competing with each other on key stats.

Communicator is used to send messages to different distributions lists that use the membership database as the source of lists. These lists can be custom created using information from the system, or as simple as a member type (eg, player). SMS is now also available via Communicator.

Basketball Geelong have a SportingPulse standard website that is linked with SportingPulse software and an easy-to-use CMS. Fixtures, results and ladders are published online, including the ability to alert local media to results for easy publication in the local newspaper.
