The 10th Australian Masters Games (10AMG) are Australia's largest multisport event with in excess of 10,000 people competing in over 60 team and individual sports. SportingPulse provides a totally integrated end to end online registration, accreditation, competition management and results system that offers flexibility for the Games, as well as participants and sport convenors.

As a result of a very positive and successful working relationship between SportingPulse and the Healthpact 9th Australian Masters Games, Canberra 2003, 10AMG have chosen to continue working closely with SportingPulse, and their tailored IT solution, which has allowed us to take our organisation to a whole new level of professionalism and service to participants.

The SportingPulse solution has allowed both the Games and sport convenors to increase efficiency, and improve communication to participants with individual sport self-editing web sites, using a simple content management system. Event organisers are able to add up-to-date news stories, photographs, competition information and communicate any late event and venue changes as required. These websites will also house games time competition draws/schedules and display results immediately at the conclusion of the competition. During 9AMG, these sport websites proved to be very effective, receiving well over 1 million hits for the event.

The SportingPulse online registration system is extremely popular with over 60% of participants in 10AMG entering the event online. The system supports our business process and is totally secure yet flexible enough for multiple user types to report on data in any manner they require.

The online registration system provides the Games with a fully secure payment and reporting system that includes:

  • Real time transaction approval
  • Ability to process manual payments (eg. cash, cheques, money orders). The functionality offered allows the Games to have total control over how payments are processed, for example by batch, by specific payment type or a combination of some/all
  • Manual payment for online entries, offering flexible payment options for participants, while also reducing data entry workload and costs for event organisers
  • Individual access for sport convenors to full event and payment details for their own participants, with report access being granted by the Games office
  • Detailed financial reporting as listed below, with the ability to customise by choosing the fields you wish to report on:
    • Banking summary outlining all receipt details;
    • Account Split detailing make-up of payment eg. sport & games entry;
    • Refund reports;
    • Event summaries, including financial details and participant numbers

The SportingPulse online registration system has made a massive improvement to the quality of the staging of the Australian Masters Games by providing participants and sport convenors alike with accurate and timely registration and financial information.

10AMG and SportingPulse are currently working together to tailor an accreditation solution specific to the needs of this event. The SportingPulse accreditation system used during the 9th Australian Masters Games allowed for an extremely high throughput, and helped to overcome the problem of long queues and waiting times for participants receiving their accreditation passes. An Australian Masters Games record was achieved, with over 1,500 participants processed in the first 2 hours of operation. We are once again looking forward to increasing the efficiency of our accreditation operation, by working together with SportingPulse and their accreditation solution.

The 10th Australian Masters Games have enjoyed a strong partnership with SportingPulse, who have used their knowledge and expertise to create, and tailor, an end to end solution to service all the IT needs for our event.
